Laser Dentistry

In our opinion, Lasers are one of the most influential advancements in dentistry. Yes, lasers have been used in dentistry since 1990. A laser is an instrument that produces a very narrow, intense beam of light energy. The Laser sterilizes and coagulates blood vessels at the same time, thereby reducing the opportunity for infection. Lasers can be used as a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of dental procedures and are often used in conjunction with other dental instruments.

Most often we use lasers for soft tissue procedures. Soft tissue lasers enable the dentist to treat a multitude of soft tissue pathologies with extreme accuracy, minimal bleeding and minimal post-operative discomfort. These lasers do not make whining sounds or other annoying noises.  You may experience the sound of a rush of air, since air suction is often used to keep the area cool and cleaner.
